Senior Industrial Designer (m/f/d)

Your profile

• Degree in Industrial Design, Product Design or a related discipline
• Several years of professional experience in industrial design, ideally within medical technology or other highly regulated, complex product environments
• Proven track record of leading industrial design projects from concept through implementation
Strong expertise in human-centered design, product strategy, and cross-functional collaboration
• Excellent skills in visualization, prototyping, storytelling, presentation, and workshop facilitation
• Proficiency in SolidWorks, KeyShot, and other relevant design tools
• Strong communication and stakeholder management skills; fluent in English, German is a plus
• Design, build, and evaluate physical prototypes using a range of prototyping technologies, including CNC machining, 3D printing, laser cutting, and model-making techniques
• Own & continuously evolve BIOLAB’s hardware prototyping capabilities, tools, processes & workshop infrastructure to enable rapid experimentation and innovation
• Establish best practices to make prototyping resources accessible

Your responsibilities

• Lead industrial design projects across BIOTRONIK’s product portfolio & BIOLAB innovation initiatives
• Shape product strategy & contribute to product development from early exploration through implementation
• Translate user, clinical, business, and technical insights into meaningful product experiences
• Drive design activities in close collaboration with engineering, UX, human factors, product management, and manufacturing teams
• Develop compelling visualizations, prototypes, & design concepts to communicate, test, & refine ideas
• Plan & facilitate workshops with internal stakeholders, physicians, & healthcare professionals
• Maintain & further evolve BIOTRONIK’s hardware design language & design standards
• Support BIOLAB venture & innovation activities through concept development, visual storytelling & executive-level presentations
